Elizabeth Goor


Elizabeth was born and raised in Canada and moved to Australia in 1977. She has a BA, Dietetics qualification, and Dip. Ed (Secondary Science). She has been involved in Montessori Governance since 1986. Elizabeth has experience as a dietitian, community nutritionist, as well as in health services management. She taught in the Nursing College and at the TAFE in Social Services, nutrition and health. She completed a Masters in Health Planning, and Masters in Total Quality Management and worked in Planning, Research and Development, Quality Assurance in the Illawarra Area Health and Wollongong Council Community Services. She was Elonera Montessori School’s Head of School for sixteen years and was the project manager of seven (completed within budget) BGA capital works projects and successfully applied for the last BGA project (establishing a Nido, preschool, and primary classroom) prior to retirement. She established the first Montessori Adolescent program in NSW as well as the first International Baccalaureate Diploma in Wollongong. She advocated for and mentored an Indigenous AMI 3-6 Montessori teacher trainee and has long-time links to the Cook Islands community. Elizabeth joined the MCF Board in September 2018.
