Preparation

  • Our Course Facilitator, Julia Hilson is a Montessori Director of Training. She has taught and mentored Montessori Educators all over the world (often via zoom due to COVID), including some very remote communities in India and Africa. Julia has also been mentoring Montessori educators and families in Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities for over a decade.

  • Julia will be assisted by Rebecca Altaffer, who is currently facilitating a Raising Happy Kids playgroup in Cairns.

  • You will receive a workbook, exercise book, and following the course, you will receive a link to our ‘sequence of activities to complement your practice.

  • During the Course (between residency 2 and 3), you will be asked to complete several tasks. While these are not difficult, they will require some time commitment.

  • Montessori training asks us to participate in a modicum of self-reflection and preparation for working with small children. This course is no different. We invite you to prepare yourself for a shift in perception. This can be uncomfortable, but worthwhile and very rewarding!

  • Finally, as this is our pilot course – the first of its kind – we will be asking you for feedback – during, and on completion of the course. We thank you in advance for this!
